Toral is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida and moved to DC for residency. Jigar is originally from Uganda and moved to India for his medical school training in Manipal, and then moved to DC for residency. They met in an elevator at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and the rest is history… Toral is now completing her training in DC and will plan to move to Houston, Texas where Jigar is currently completing his training. Long distance has been tough but distance has truly made our hearts grow stronger.
|Toral is an out-going fun-loving type of girl. Jigar is a down to earth always practical and forever-caring type of guy. We both enjoy time with family, travelling, planning for the future, playing board games and enjoying what life has to offer. We are both physicians and find a lot in common both within our careers and outside of it.
About their love story:
|We met in an elevator and became friends. It wasn’t until 2 years later that we bumped again in stairwell. He asked me out and I said yes. We dated for a few months and knew we had a lot in common. Jigar found out he was moving to Texas to further his training and I was stuck in DC for another 2 years. We decided long distance was possible and we decided to give it a shot. We had our ups and downs but over time, we knew we loved other and the light at the end of the tunnel was there. We decided that we were happier together than apart and decided that we wanted to get married but the question was where? Jigar’s father passed away in 2016 and always imagined his son getting married in India. Most all of my family live there as does his. We decided that India was definitely our wedding destination to celebrate the coming together of not just us but our families as well.
|Toral: I remember when Jigar and I had our first date. I decided to order a drink and Jigar chose the same one. I laughed and asked him to order a different one so that we could try each others. He chuckled and loved the idea. We have pretty much handled everything in our relationship the same way-shared and together.
